- Steve Cohen's Point72 has rapidly expanded its macro trading team under Mohammed Grimeh, who joined in February.
- The hedge fund has made 6 key hires since June, 5 of which have joined the macro unit.
- These include 2 key hires from Goldmans over the summer, Alex Blanchard and Andrew DiMaria.
- High volatility this year has renewed interest in macro trading groups for their ability to make money by navigating the tumult.
