BNP Paribas said on Thursday it has appointed Jose Placido as chief executive officer of its U.S. operations, effective April 1. Jose will assume the role of CEO of BNP Paribas USA and will oversee all U.S.-business activities while retaining in the role of CIB Americas executive chief, the Paris-based bank said. The biggest euro-zone bank has also appointed Jean-Yves Fillion as the vice-chairman of the BNP Paribas USA Board of Directors. Jean-Yves Fillion was serving as CEO of BNP Paribas USA since 2016, overseeing both wholesale and retail operations.

Bruno is the Global Head of Treasury at BNP Paribas, a position he has held since September 2013. With nearly 20 years of experience at BNP Paribas, he has previously served in various roles, including Head of International Treasury and Deputy Head of Retail Listed Products Equity Derivatives. His tenure at BNP Paribas spans over 10 years, during which he also held positions such as Head of Treasury for Hong Kong & China and Head of Forex Options for the USA. Prior to this, Bruno worked at Banque Indosuez from January 1986 to April 1993, where he held roles including Head of International Sales Forex, Head of Forex & Treasury Sales, Credit Analyst, and Representative. 

Bruno completed a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental Technology at Mines Paris - PSL from 2003 to 2004 and a Diploma in Mandarin language at East China Normal University from 1985 to 1986. He also completed an internship at OECD Environment from August 2004 to January 2005.
