Christopher is currently the Head Principal Investments & Acquisitions at Swiss Re, having joined the company in 2013. Prior to this, he held various positions at Phoenix Group, Britam, SulAmérica, and Hygeia HMO. His roles at Deutsche Bank from 2001 to 2012 included Global Head | CEO DB Private Equity, Global Head - Corporate Development - Investments, COO and Deputy Global Head of Corporate Development & Corporate Investments, CFO – Corporate Investments Division, and Director, Corporate Development. Before that, he worked as a Senior Manager at PwC from 1993 to 2000 and as a Trainee Chartered Accountant at Grant Thornton UK LLP from 1990 to 1993. Christopher completed an MA, BA (Hons) in Law and History at the University of Cambridge and a Swiss Bank Auditor certification recognized by the Swiss Federal Banking Commission.

Philipp is the Head of Alternative Capital Partners and Group Managing Director at Swiss Re, a position he assumed in September 2019. Prior to this, he held roles as Head Reinsurance Capital Management and Global Head P&C Structured Solutions at the same company, starting in January 2013. Before joining Swiss Re, he was a Partner at Arbillon Capital from July 2010 to June 2012. Philipp also served as a Managing Director at CS First Boston from September 2000 to June 2010, and as an Analyst at Bank Vontobel AG from September 1999 to August 2000. He holds a Masters degree in Engineering from ETH Zürich (1992 - 1999) and a Masters degree from École Polytechnique (1996 - 1998).

Swiss Re names corporate solutions leader Berger as new chief. Swiss Re, a reinsurance company based in Zürich, Switzerland, announced that it has appointed its new chief executive. The company said on Wednesday, April 3, that Andreas Berger is set to replace its long-serving boss in July. Company Recovers from Difficult Year According to Reuters, the leadership transition follows the companys strong recovery after a difficult business in the previous year. The recent recovery helped bring Swiss Res stock up to the highest number in several years. At any rate, Berger has a good track record in the industry thus he has been unanimously voted to be the companys chief. He will replace the current CEO who is leaving after leading the firm for almost eight years. Boards Selection of New CEO As the new chief executive officer of Swiss Re, Andreas Berger is expected to bring his achievements, expertise, and strong leadership values to help the company succeed further in the business. He was selected by the board as he has demonstrated the strength and talent and leadership qualities that the company is looking for. Meanwhile, Berger is set to take over the CEO role at Swiss Re on July 1. He will succeed Christian Mumenthaler. "The Board unanimously determined that Andreas Berger is the right person to build on the firms current momentum and lead Swiss Re into the next phase of its development," Swiss Res vice chairman of the Board of Directors, Jacques de Vaucleroy, said in a press release. "After five years with Swiss Re, he looks back on a convincing track record, underscored by the successful turnaround of the Corporate Solutions Business Unit he has led." De Vaucleroy added that Andreas Berger "demonstrated a strong focus on execution while at the same time innovating the business with data analytics-based solutions." Finally, on his appointment, the new chief commented, "I am honored by the Boards decision to appoint me to lead this great company. I am looking forward to working with all my colleagues on the Group Executive Committee, Swiss Res employees, and the Board of Directors."
